ABOUT me

Looking back I would have never guessed I would be writing a blog, filled with reviews, tips and recipes about rum. I mean hell, I'm dyslexic for God's sake.

I was lucky growing up in that we moved around a lot, giving me the chance to see both sides of the North-South divide in the UK and 6 great years in Hong Kong. It certainly gave me a taste for new experiences, meeting other people and travelling. There's a good shot below of me post bungee jump in Thailand with the worst dyed hair ever!

Alcohol was never really an enjoyment when we started trying it at (cough cough) 18. I remember my first rum experience. Lambs Navy and lemonade, short class and no ice in this crap local pub in Manchester. I added rum to the list of drinks I would avoid in future.

My relationship with alcohol had changed after working in bar and restaurants in Manchester. Fast forward to a few years through uni in Newcastle. I stumbled across Tokyo cocktail bar (not the one that's there now) and step changed my cocktail making skills and made some unbelievable friends who developed the same love for rum as I have.

Sadly I don't work in the bars anymore, but my two friends and I still meet up multiple times a year for Rum and Steak nights, cocktail making and the odd holiday via a rum distillery!

Years ago we set up a blog to document this called RumWithThreeLimes. Looking back, it's a bit pants, but the knowledge and love we have for rum needs to be shared. Enter JaiTiki

So if you want honest and non-technical reviews of rum, insight to some of the World's rum distilleries and most of all some great tips and delicious rum recipes then read on and enjoy.
